Aggregate materials such as sand, gravel and crushed stone occupy a significant amount of concrete used in construction. These aggregate materials are used for cement concrete, asphalt concrete, for tamping roads, tamping railway tracks… The demand for high-quality aggregates, which meet the specifications of civil engineers for construction activities, is growing year by year. For a better understanding of the properties of aggregates, it is essential to ensure the economy of the construction process and the durability of construction facilities.

Depending on the application, the degree of sphericity (roundness) of sand and gravel is also important. When an increased angle is required that cannot be obtained from natural deposits of gravel or sand, the material can be made using industrial crushers and separators. Ballast for roads and railways often requires crushed and crushed material because of its resistance to compaction and movement.
